Specs
Clean casts from day one.
The magnetic brake and a spool tuned by hand do the hard part. Set the knob once, then just cast — beginners too.
18 lb of drag. Big fish come in.
The 7.2:1 gear gives you power for crankbaits and heavy fish, and 18 lb of smooth drag holds when they run.
Tuned by hand before it ships.
Every reel gets its brake, bearings and drag checked before it leaves us, so it casts right out of the box. Light enough for a full day on the water.
Real owners. Real fish.
It's easily my favorite reel. Impressive drag power and smooth casting, despite its compact size!
I've been using mine for over 2 years. They are smooth, accurate and can handle the big ones
This reel is a must-have for any serious fisherman. It's durable, reliable, and fairly priced. I've recommended it to all of my fishing buddies!
This Reel certainly exceeded my expectations! Best value for money in this price category!
I was amazed at how easy it was to use this baitcaster reel. It's perfect for beginners and experienced anglers alike!
No brand tax
Why $59.99 and not $250
Big-brand reels carry the cost of TV ads, pro contracts and store markups. Ours goes from us to your door, tuned by hand before it ships.
Questions, answered.
Cobra Strike or the Obalus Baitcast Reel?
The Cobra Strike is 7.2:1 — a bit slower and stronger, made for crankbaits and big fish. The Obalus Baitcast Reel is 8.1:1 — faster, for jigs, worms and covering water. Both have the magnetic brake and 18 lb of drag.
I've never used a baitcaster. Will I manage?
Yes. The magnetic brake is set before it ships, so the spool won't run away from you. Turn the tension knob until the lure drops slowly, and you're fishing. Every order includes a free Baitcasting Mastery video course.
Which hand do I pick?
The hand that turns the handle. Most anglers reel right-handed. Buying two? Pick the hand for each reel inside the deal — one of each is fine.
How does the 30-day money-back guarantee work?
Email info@obalus.com within 30 days of delivery and send it back unused, in its original box, for a refund. Damaged or defective? We replace it free.
