Specs
How is the Obalus Carbonlite Reel different from other fishing reels on the market?
We're not a general tackle brand. We're baitcaster specialists — and every Obalus Carbonlite Reel passes through our hands before it reaches yours. Magnetic braking tuned. Line system calibrated. Drag tested. The result: smoother casts, fewer backlashes, and a reel that feels broken-in from the first cast. The lightweight, ergonomic build handles all-day sessions without fatigue, and our step-by-step casting course — included with every order — gets you fishing like you've owned a baitcaster for years.
Does it Backlash?
The Obalus Carbonlite Reel is built to keep backlashes to a minimum. With its magnetic brake and simple tension control, you can dial it in fast and cast smooth — without fighting your reel every throw
Is shipping free? How long till I get my order?
Free shipping on orders $100+. Orders ship tomorrow and arrive in 5–10 business days. You get a tracking number by email as soon as it leaves.
Clean casts from day one.
The magnetic brake and a spool tuned by hand do the hard part. Set the knob once, then just cast — beginners too.
His $250 reel vs ours. Same lake.
Watch both casts. Then look at the price tag.
Tuned by hand before it ships.
Every reel gets its brake, bearings and drag checked before it leaves us, so it casts right out of the box. 8.1:1 retrieve and 18 lb of drag bring the big ones in.
Real owners. Real fish.
It's easily my favorite reel. Impressive drag power and smooth casting, despite its compact size!
I've been using mine for over 2 years. They are smooth, accurate and can handle the big ones
This reel is the real deal. It really doesn’t backlash. It’s so simple to use that my son was able to master it from the first cast.
This reel is a must-have for any serious fisherman. It's durable, reliable, and fairly priced. I've recommended it to all of my fishing buddies!
This Reel certainly exceeded my expectations! Best value for money in this price category!
I was amazed at how easy it was to use this baitcaster reel. It's perfect for beginners and experienced anglers alike!
No brand tax
Why $59.99 and not $250
Big-brand reels carry the cost of TV ads, pro contracts and store markups. Ours goes from us to your door, tuned by hand before it ships.
Questions, answered.
I've never used a baitcaster. Will I manage?
Yes. The magnetic brake is set before it ships, so the spool won't run away from you. Turn the tension knob until the lure drops slowly, and you're fishing. Every order includes a free Baitcasting Mastery video course.
Which hand do I pick?
The hand that turns the handle. Most anglers reel right-handed. Buying two? Pick the hand for each reel inside the deal — one of each is fine.
What fish is it good for?
Bass, catfish, walleye, pike, muskie and striper — and redfish and snook in salt. Rinse it with fresh water after a salt trip.
How does the 30-day money-back guarantee work?
Email info@obalus.com within 30 days of delivery and send it back unused, in its original box, for a refund. Damaged or defective? We replace it free.
